About

Uriel Urban is a Mexican graphic designer and creative director specializing in fashion styling and production. His practice moves across the intersections of design, fashion and culture.

Throughout his career, Urban has collaborated with artists in design andproduction presented at premium venues including La Casa Encendida in Madrid; MUSAC in Castilla y León; Museo Anahuacali, Complot Cultural Los Pinos, and Biennale d’art Contemporain Autochtone (BACA). These collaborations reflect his ongoing interest in the relationship between fashion, art, and visual narrative.

Urban’s most high-profile collaboration in Mexico has been as lead fashion coordinator for “Original,” a national textile and runway art project centering Indigenous voices, which took place at the federal Casa Cultural Los Pinos in Mexico City in 2021. In 2011 he received the Young Creative Entrepreneur Award by the British Council and El Concejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes,  establishing his profile as an emerging creative. That same year, he presented his collections at International Designers México and was featured in the Mexican design directory Destination: Mexico, presented at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. At the same time, his creative practice has been featured in international fashion publications, including VOGUE México, ELLE México, VICE México, Tiger Magazine (Spain), PORNCEPTUAL (Berlin), and among others.

Today, Uriel+Urban continues to evolve as a contemporary artisanal fashion project, where each piece becomes an exploration of technique and construction. His work celebrates the diversity of the human body through garments that embody identity and presence, creating a dialogue with the intimacy of the body and its symbolic power.
